Your calendar, beside your tasks
Connect Google Calendar or Outlook once, on the web or in the desktop app. Your meetings show up where you plan, and the time you block for your own work becomes real events on your calendar.
On the web
Go to Settings → Calendar and click Connect on Google Calendar or Outlook. You’ll see the provider’s own consent page, then you’re back in MakeTimeFlow.
- With Google, leave calendar access ticked on Google’s consent page. Without it, MakeTimeFlow can sign you in with that account but can’t see your calendar.
- After a Google connect, you’re back on Settings → Calendar, where Calendars to show lets you choose which calendars appear.
- New accounts meet the same choice in onboarding: Connect your calendar, with Google and Outlook buttons, or Skip for now.
In the desktop app
The desktop app connects your calendar in your browser, because Google won’t run its sign-in inside an app’s own window. Then it brings you back.
- Click Connect, or Google or Outlook in onboarding. The button says Opening your browser…, and your browser opens, already signed in as you.
- If your browser isn’t signed in to MakeTimeFlow, it asks first: Continue as you (your email)? Click Continue. If that isn’t you, choose Not you? Sign in with a different account.
- You’ll see Connecting to Google Calendar… for a moment, then Google’s consent page.
- When you’re done, the page says Google Calendar is connected. and Opening MakeTimeFlow…, and the app comes forward. You can close the tab.
- The app has already moved on: onboarding carries on to the next step, and Settings → Calendar shows the calendar connected, with no reload.
Grant Calendar Access and Reconnect in Settings → Calendar work the same way.
Signed in as someone else?
If your browser is signed in to a different MakeTimeFlow account, it stops with “You are already signed in as a different user. Please sign out first.” Sign out in the browser, then click Connect in the app again.
If it didn’t connect
The page you land on always says what’s true now: Google Calendar isn’t connected. It still opens the app. The likely reasons:
- You cancelled on Google’s or Microsoft’s page. Click Connect again when you’re ready.
- Calendar access was left unticked on Google’s page. Connect again and leave it ticked.
- That Google account is already connected to another MakeTimeFlow account. The page adds “This account is already connected to another user.” Disconnect it there first, or use a different Google account.
Outlook is the exception. If your organization’s admin has to approve MakeTimeFlow first, the browser shows a page explaining what to ask them for, and stays there; the app isn’t brought forward. Once they’ve approved, Try connecting again on that page finishes the connect and comes back as above.
Connect your calendar now: Settings → Calendar.
